How to select suitable hydraulic oil for your equipment?

Selecting the right hydraulic oil is essential for stable system performance and long component life. The most important factor is viscosity, as it directly affects lubrication, efficiency, and protection of pumps and valves.

For most industrial systems, ISO VG 32, ISO VG 46, and ISO VG 68 are the most common choices. ISO VG 32 is suitable for high-speed systems or colder environments. ISO VG 46 is the most widely used for general industrial applications due to its balanced performance. ISO VG 68 is recommended for heavy-duty equipment or high-temperature conditions.

In addition to viscosity, the type of oil should match the application. Standard anti-wear (AW) hydraulic oil is adequate for most machinery, while mobile or outdoor equipment may benefit from more stable or zinc-free formulations. In environmentally sensitive areas, biodegradable hydraulic fluids can be considered.
