Seals are one of the most critical components in a hydraulic cylinder, as they directly affect leakage control, efficiency, and service life. Their main function is to maintain pressure, prevent fluid loss, and ensure smooth piston movement under different working conditions. However, seal selection must be tailored to each specific application rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all solution.

The operating environment plays a major role in determining the appropriate seal design. In high-pressure or heavy-load applications, seals with additional support structures or secondary lips are often required to maintain stability and prevent deformation. Conversely, low-pressure systems may function effectively with single-lip seals, which reduce friction and improve responsiveness.
